Mold Making and Slip Casting
Ideas: Organic forms, glaze and clay chemistry and movement, delving deeper in to visual contrast and glaze breakage.
I used clay modeling for the leaves, plaster carving for the orchid pots, and lathing for the bowls and cylinders to create prototypes. I created plaster molds from the prototypes and cast the pieces in porcelain slip. I experimented with raku, creating lovely iridescents and coppery finishes.
